Mechanical Engineering Department was established in 2011 within the Faculty of Engineering. Çankaya University Mechanical Engineering Department, which developed in a short period, conducts undergraduate, graduate and doctorate programs. All these programs are implemented in English.
The undergraduate program of Mechanical Engineering Department covers a 4 year (8 semesters), after the English language preparatory education. Throughout the eight semesters, students are required to complete the compulsory and elective courses specified in the curriculum within the general criteria set by the University.
The education program aims to provide students with the ability to think analytically and creatively, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and work in interdisciplinary teams. Special emphasis is placed on practical applications in the teaching plan. In the fourth year, design and implementation projects for the solution of real engineering problems lasting for one year are carried out jointly with industrial organizations. Within the scope of two experimental laboratory courses that last for two semesters, our students acquire the skills of designing an experiment, establishing an experimental system, measurement and data analysis. The training activities are supported by numerous laboratory studies and technical trips. Teaching the advanced mechanical engineering related softwares in our advanced computer laboratories is another specially emphasized aspect of our program. In addition, students must complete two summer internships.
