In order to qualify for the undergraduate degree, students must be successful in two summer practices, “ME200 Summer Practice 1” and “ME300 Summer Practice 2”.
Students will carry out their practices in accordance with the Mechanical Engineering Department summer practice contents.
  1. Practices are held on dates that do not coincide with the academic year.
  2. The duration of each internship is 20 working days and cannot be divided.
  3. There is an obligation to continue Practice actually and uninterruptedly.
  4. The number of days that are not continued with a valid excuse is added to the Practice period.
  5. Saturday, Sunday and public holidays are not counted as Practice days.
  6. If production summer practice (ME 200) is done in a factory only R&D summer practice (ME300-R&D) can be done in the same place.
Practice in Graduation
  1. Apart from the Summer Practice, the student must have no classes left.
  2. The student can do a Practice at any time, regardless of the academic calendar.
  3. The student delivers his Summer Practice Report until the end of the second week following the end of the Practice.
  4. The student’s internship is evaluated as soon as possible and the grade is reported to the student affairs.
  1. Matching the compliance of the company with the Mechanical Engineering Department summer practice criteria;
    • At least 3 engineers should work for the company, one of which is a mechanical engineer.
    • It is necessary to check the organization to which it will apply from the list of approved companies.
    • If it is not listed, Appendix B  must be filled and approved by the coordinator. 
  2. Practice dates are discussed and finalized with the company
    • There should be no conflict with the summer school or semester and 20 working days should be adjusted by paying attention to the holidays.
  3. Signing the incoming mail within a few days after completing the Insurance Form and delivering it to the Mechanical Engineering Department secretariat
  4. Students who require an internship certificate must complete Appendix G and submit it to the department secretariat and obtain the document approved by the department secretariat within a few days.
  5. Completing the insurance procedures
    • SGK declaration will be sent to you by e-mail
  1. When you start Practice deliver “Practice Evaluation Forms” (Appendix C) to the Practice Manager of the Company and recieve filled and signed document in a closed envelope after the practice is over.
  2. During your Practice comply with the company’s working principles, dicipline and safety rules and legal regulations.
  3. Pay attention to all kinds of places, tools, materials, machinery and tools you use in the company.
  1. Prepare your report on the studies you have done during your Practice in accordance with the relevant “Report Template”.
  2. Take “Practice Evaluation Forms” in a closed envelope or have them sent to the Department by the Company.
  3. Upload the electronic copy of your report (*.pdf) to the “Summer Practice Information System”
  4. Deliver your approved report and the “Practice Evaluation Forms”, if any, to the Department Student Affairs between announced days.
